Project Description
Paddington Green is COWC’s new campus facility opened in January 2011. The College’s aim was to use cutting-edge architecture design which takes full advantage of the key location in the borough. City of Westminster College offers around 250 full-time and part-time courses to over 7,000 students each year in the centre of London.
The project presented a very challenging cabling installation due to the fact that all services, including cabling, had to to be installed under the floor. Able Data installed more than 7,000 Cat6a outlets over the seven floors of the new building. The installation also required the installation of a 24-core OM3 diverse backbone linking 14 computer and patch rooms. The installation included 60 x Copper B-Line equipment cabinets. Hawki control units were used to provide centralised remote monitoring of both the power and environmental conditions within the cabinets.
