Twelve Satellite IRS
Able Data have won the contract to design and install a twelve satellite Integrated Reception System
in Park Lane. The challenge was to provide a highly flexible TV & Satellite distribution system, allowing tenants in 140 luxury apartments to receive any of the supported satellite services. The solution was to design a re-configurable RF system so that signals from different satellite sources can be simply patched through to different apartments as and when required. As a further feature, the system will include a digital SMATV head end, so that tenants can watch some of the more popular satellite channels through a standard digital TV set and without the requirement for having their own satellite receiver.
Able Data will be building the system using Fracarro equipment for the coax signals and Global Invacom equipment to transmit multiple satellite channels over fibre.
