Crystal Palace TV Switchover – April 2012

The Crystal Palace digital switchover is scheduled to happen in April 2012. This will affect almost everyone in the London area including tenants at Denham Gardens, Bermondsey, Albion Riverside, Vincent Square, Wandsworth Riverside, Paddington Walk and Merchant Square.

During April 2012, all analogue TV services broadcast from Crystal Palace will be switched off. This means that anyone still using an analogue only TV will lose all channels. The options for viewing thereafter are to use any of:

  • Sky
  • Freesat (either through a freesat receiver or a V equipped with a freesat receiver)
  • Freeview (either through a ‘freeview/BT Vision/Top Up TV’ receiver or a TV equipped with a freeview reciever)

The switchover will occur in two stages:

  1. 4th April 2012. BBC2 analogue will be switched off and the digital channels re-organised
  2. 18th April 2012. The remaining four analogue channels will be switched off and the digital channels again re-organised.

On both days, users of the digital TV channels (freeview/BT Vision/Top Up TV) will need to re-tune their equipment.
